In our society we can clearly see obvious differences between girls’ and boys’ clothes. Right from birth till puberty our kids wear attires as per gender and so on. Unisex clothing concept is scarcely limited to very few number of articles in Pakistan. We can even see different sections for boys and girls and even toddlers range is also placed in different sections for both.
It’s not people’s choice its society that drives dress code. Being Muslim dominant Pakistan has a different but rich culture for girls wear on the other hand boys collection are mostly western other than traditional dresses like Kurta, Shalwar. Differences in dress codes are not just limited to category of dress like shirt, jeans etc but also the way it stitched or embroidery work speak about gender it is made for. Most common factors to differentiate dresses on basis of gender are as follow:-
Colors
Girls wear are mostly of pinks while boys’ collection have more blue color in it. Pink wear in our society is restricted to girls only and its hard to find a boy wearing pink color
Style
Boys clothing are mostly straight while girls wear are sewn to fit on body shape.

Buttons
Buttons are placed on right side and button holes are on left side on boy’s shirts while girl’s shirts have buttons on left side and button holes on right side

Girls’ shirts are more spacious around chest part a little bit tight from belly and then wide like fish while boys’ shirts are straight from shoulder
Hips
Hip size is a definite consideration in girls’ pants and different hip sizes in pants are available in market while boys’ pants have variation in this aspect.
